Modern farming has damaged both nature and the environment. Hedge rows have been destroyed to create large fields for more intensive farming. These hedge rows were the highways for animals, birds and insects. We want to reinstate hedge rows, trees and ponds to increase biodiversity and balance nature. In today’s world land is at a premium and out of reach for most people. Land for Life want to provide land at a low cost (from as little as £350) that people can use for a variety of reasons including:
Memorial Gardens, Micro Orchards, Allotments, Beekeeping, Leisure usage and more.
My Story
Sadly my Grandfather passed away at the height of the pandemic, this was the first time I had lost somebody so close to me. After he was cremated I wanted to create something in his memory. I was horrified by what crematoriums offer and the prices they charge, a memorial shrub would have cost me £1,907 and £196 per year in the future (Croydon Crematorium). This would have been a shrub amongst hundreds of other shrubs and if I did not pay the annual renewal it would be dug up and thrown away! I wanted something permanent, somewhere I could visit, something I owned that could become a family memorial garden for generations to come. I decided to set out on a journey to find the solution. During this same period, like everyone else , I was in lock down and was fortunate enough to live next to a woodland. Every day I would go walking in the woodland and for the first time in my life I saw the nature and wildlife thriving. My parents for the first time created a small vegetable patch, this interest kept my parents in better spirits and surprisingly improved their physical health. The amount of vegetables produced from a small area surprised us all, and the difference in taste compared to a supermarket and the cost saving were just amazing. The more I thought about what people would like, the more potential I saw for helping people and the environment. The Solution
To purchase land in beautiful surroundings with easy access and divide it into smaller affordable parcels by the use of hedgerows instead of fencing. Planting trees, wild flowers and shrubs – creating natural habitats.
Each area of land will be divided into zones that compliment one another, both in terms of use and for nature to be able to flourish. For people that are still unable to afford the low purchase prices, they will be able to rent the land at a lower cost with the opportunity to buy at any time.

Everybody noticed the nature flourishing during the lockdowns, unfortunately as the world returns to normal I fear this is being forgotten. Let’s change that together.

Our Community
We want the people that own land they have bought from us to be a community. Each of our landowners will have the option to be able to message and communicate with other landowners on their site. As a company we will reach out to our landowning customers and ask them what we can do to improve their site.
Donations and Volunteers
We ask people to help us with our planting programs, we especially want to work with charities to help people with disabilities and mental health take advantage of working on the land. Some people don’t want to own land but would like to help by donating towards the cost of planting and creating ponds.
Partnering with Organisations
We love to partner and work with special interest organisations, especially those with knowledge of animal and insect habitats. These organisations have a passion for specific species such as hedgehogs or bees and their knowledge and help is invaluable to us.
Customer Satisfaction
We will work tirelessly to make sure that our customers have all the help and tools they need to make the most from the land they have bought. We will supply water to sites, communal compost areas and of course security.
